Plumbing FAQ

Questions about general plumbing.

What plumbing problems do you fix?

Hidden and visible leaks, dripping taps, low water pressure, and blocked drains — the everyday plumbing issues that come up in most homes. We focus on permanent fixes, not a quick patch that fails again next month.

Do you do gas or boiler work?

No — JM Plumbing Services doesn't carry out gas or boiler work, and we're not Gas Safe registered. If your issue turns out to be gas or boiler related, we'll tell you honestly and point you toward getting a Gas Safe registered engineer, rather than take on work outside what we're qualified for.

What should I do if I notice a leak?

Turn off the water supply to that area straight away — look for the isolation valve under the toilet or sink, or use the main stopcock if needed. Don't ignore it, even if it seems minor; water damage builds up quickly behind tiles and under floors. Give us a call and we'll advise on the best next step.

Why is my water pressure low?

Could be a partially closed valve, a build-up of limescale or debris in pipework, or an issue further back in the supply. We'll diagnose the actual cause rather than guess, since low pressure can have several different sources that each need a different fix.
